The 2017 session of the Tidewater Regional Governor’s School for Science and Technology will convene July 10-20, 2017 at Pioneer Elementary School. Though this program serves rising 4th-7th grade gifted students from four municipalities (Suffolk, Isle of Wight, Franklin, Southampton), a newer facet of the program engages high school students in meaningful volunteerism as program interns.

The program affords successful applicants a minimum of fifty (50) hours of documented community service credit, the ability to work side-by-side with teachers and staff in supervision and activities, and the opportunity to engage in forensic technologies, which will be this year’s program theme. A field trip is being planned; interns will attend, participate, and assist staff.

Five applicants will be selected. Please note the program location, and that no transportation service is provided; interns must provide their own transportation. All necessary information can be found on the program application, below.
